  • large green bell pepper, chopped
  • large garlic cloves, minced
  • cajun seasoning
  • dried oregano, smoked paprika, black pepper, red pepper flakes
  • soy sauce
  • chicken broth (2 cups if you want it to be a soup)
  • small cabbage, bite-size chopped

Making The Cabbage and Smoked Sausage In The Instant Pot

The first step is to preheat the Instant Pot on the high sauté setting. When it gets hot, add the olive oil and smoked sausage. Cook the sausage until it starts to slightly brown all over. Stir once or twice during this time. This will take only a few minutes in total. Once done, remove the browned sausage to the bowl.

Lock and seal the lid. Cook on manual/high for 1 minute followed by a 5-minute natural pressure release. Release the remaining pressure before opening the lid. Keep in mind that the pot will take at least 20 minutes to come up to pressure, the result of which you will have a super tender and delicious cabbage.
