This recipe for cornish hen in an air fryer is really simple to prepare, has a tonne of flavor, and the meat is moist inside, making it the ideal main dish for a special occasion or weekend dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 Cornish hen, thawed and patted dry
- 1 table spoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1-2 table spoon seasoning of your choice. I used McCormick's barbecue for seasoning.
Instructions
- Remove the backbone with scissors (or a sharp knife). The keel bone should be flattened by applying pressure to it from the outside of the hen. Since they are much smaller and softer than those found in a full-sized chicken, this shouldn't need too much work.
- Season the hen thoroughly, both on the outside and beneath the skin, with oil and seasoning.
- Air fry the meat skin-side down for 12 minutes at 400°, then flip it over and continue to air fry the meat skin-side up for 8 more minutes.
- Give it 10 minutes to rest before using your bare hands and teeth to tear it apart like an animal.
