Yield: 6
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes

This cabbage & smoked sausage dish is a perfect example of how easy it can be to cook delicious keto meals in the instant pot. The cabbage and smoked sausage are cooked with some spices and then topped with cheese for an amazing keto dinner.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. The first step is to preheat the Instant Pot on the high sauté setting.
  2. Add the olive oil and smoked sausage. Cook the sausage until it starts to slightly brown all over. Stir once or twice during this time. This will take only a few minutes in total. Once done, remove the browned sausage to the bowl.
  3. Add the onion and bell pepper to the pot and fry for just a few minutes until they are soft.
  4. Add the garlic, cajun seasonings, and spices to the pot. Stir for about a minute, until the garlic is fragrant.
  5. Add the soy sauce and chicken broth and mix well. Scrape the bottom to avoid a BURN warning.
  6. Add the cabbage and give it a quick stir. Don’t over stir, though. The mixture should be entirely combined with even seasoning distribution after just a few stirs.
  7. Spread butter pieces over the top and then layer browned sausage evenly over the top. Spread it out without stirring the bottom.
  8. Lock and seal the lid. Cook on manual/high for 1 minute followed by a 5-minute natural pressure release. Release the remaining pressure before opening the lid. Keep in mind that the pot will take at least 20 minutes to come up to pressure, the result of which you will have a super tender and delicious cabbage.
  9. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cook on low, add parsley and grated parmesan if desired. Serve & enjoy!
